make sure you order the correct voltage unit
I bought this unit; installed it , and it didn't work. Turns out that i needed a 120v solenoid, not 24v. The units look identical. Make sure you check your specs on your original solenoid. I 'burned out' the 24v unit I had purchased. This is for a generalaire humidifier.
working good so far
I seem to go through these valve every year or two. I'm not sure if it's my water or what. I have friends with the same solenoids that are a decade old...
I hate to give less than 5 stars because I feel like this is a robust product, but maybe there are others out there that have a similar issue.
This is my third one
In as many as 12 years with my Bryant furnace, my general humidifier uses this solenoid to control the water, I'm on the third one which has either burned out or plugged up so bad I found it easier to replace. Much to expensive for what it does, but there aren't to many choices on the market. I guess it's failed more than my furnace which has never had a service issue thus far. Not a good track record for this valve.
