Good replacement
I bought this Whirlpool water pump for my washer. My 10 yr old machine started to leak, just after my warranty finished i bought my machine from a big box store. Water was going from bottom upon inspection i found it to be this part. I searched online whirlpool had a breakdown of every part on the machine. I found it on amazon for less. i watched the videos online and took the washer apart from top to bottom. After doing this i realized i could have just put the washer on its side and access this part or any part.
So if you intend on replacing this part you can save some time:
1.) Place machine on its side.
2.) Remove hose they are clamped on remove using a pliers.
3.) Remove the two brackets holding water pump to washer.
4.) Place new wash pump in place. )ensure the center hole is turn to line up with rod on machine.
5.) Replace the brackets.
6.) Attach hose first put clamps over part then attach hose and move clamps over hose. ensure tight...
Perfect Fit!
My 20+ yr old Kenmore washing machine developed a leak from underneath. I was just about to replace the machine when I decided I had nothing to lose by opening it up and taking a look around. Had the machine taken apart in just a few minutes and was able to quickly identify the problem--a leaky water pump. Looked up part number, found this replacement pump on Amazon--by far the cheapest option I could find--ordered it--it came in about 3 or 4 days--with standard shipping--and fit perfectly. Saved me hundreds on a new machine or a service call.
Not 3363394
Length of ownership at time of writing this review - one day. (seven month review at the bottom)
1. Does the pump fit - yes
2. Does the pump actually pump water - yes
3. Did everything go back into place as it should - Yes
4. Is the pump louder than the original - maybe, and if so only slightly
5. Am I happy with the product - overall - yes, with reservations
6. Am I happy with the speed of packaging, shipping and delivery - yes, very happy
With the review in # 1-6, why am I giving such a low rating - simple, the product was advertised in a manner leading you to believe the part you are ordering and will receive will be the OEM Whirlpool part number 3363394, and that is simply not true. The plastic bag had a label saying "LP116, Pump Replaces 3363394". If I wanted a pump that replaces 3363394, I would have placed an order for that item, but I bought what was represented as an OEM part. As I see it, this is a bait and switch...
