4391960 DRYER HEAT ELEMENT REPAIR PART FOR WHIRLPOOL, AMANA, MAYTAG, KENMORE AND MORE

Works great!
Bought this (and some other items) to replace a worn-out heating element in our dryer. I bought them 1-2 items at a time hoping to catch the failed item before replacing everything but in retrospect it would have been just as cheap to get the "kit" which contains all the items together.

Installation is a bit tricky since the dryers are "made for assembly and not disassembly". You'll have to remove the exterior sheet metal and perhaps even the top depending on your model. This is fairly straight forward though you'll have to "pop" the top with a screwdriver to get it to open up. (It should be on hinge to pop it from the front!) Once you have everything off (save the screws!) just replace the thermostats, etc. one at a time and then the heating element. Note that the older thermostats have been replaced with newer ones that look a bit different but will still attach the same way.

The "grounding" for the heating element is just a screw drilled into the dryer...

Can't be beat for the money!
I ordered this replacement heater for my dryer. It was shipped to me in about 2 days. Installation is pretty easy. There is only one screw that holds this in place. So once again, very easy to install. Make sure you have some wire cutter/strippers on hand, because the kit comes with two adapter wires and wire nuts that you have to install to the existing wires inside the dryer. This is also easy. Bottom line, it is a great product. Saved me about $160.00 or more if someone would have come out to repair it, and the O.E.M. heater was over $50.00. This was bought and shipped for right at $21.00.

Worked wonderfully and dryer works again.
Fit wonderfully and dryer works again.
My Kenmore dryer was tricky to get to the heating element. I had to take the top off the the unit to access it.
